SOUTH WEST : Zacheus Elango Bakuma Elected Pioneer President

A retired civil administrator from Meme Division, has been elected by his peers to pilot the affairs of the pioneer regional Assemby of the South West. Zacheus Elango Bakuma was elected during a maiden session, alongside seven others to form the regional executive council. The seven others elected into the executive include: Vice president Chief Dr Atem Ebako from Kupe Muanenguba Division.

Questor Dr Andrew Mbencho Tazi from Lebialem, secretaries include Limunga Becky Effoe and Chief Foto Felix. Commissioners for Economic development, Education, sports and cultural Development, and Commissioner for health include; Gobina Mokoko Simon, Takang Walters, and Itoe William respectively.

The Governor of the South West region, Bernard Okalia Bilai, oversaw the session chaired by the eldest and assisted by the youngest councillor. The president elect thanked his peers for the confidence bestowed on him and promised to offer his best to promote the development of the region. He called on all and sundry to mobilise their support and unite as one to see the fruition of the special status.

It was during a maiden session that he alongside seven others were elected to form the executive bureau.
